What is Niasziih Healing?

Trying to describe what Niasziih Healing has daunted us practitioners, not to mention just trying to pronounce the name!

Niasziih (NI-ahh-Z-I) is a verb that translates loosely into “The Vessel of Healing.” I discovered a few months ago to describe Niasziih Healing means to describe the healer, since WE are Niasziih. Talk about vulnerable!! I will however do my best in giving an overview of what a session may look like, what you may experience and how we wander and co-create the healing. The clients are an active participant after all.

Niasziih Healing sessions can look a lot like every other healing modality and is also very different. Sessions are a co-created effort using contact and dialog and we are not limited to the office, in fact a lot of amazing healings happen outside with the earth, but I jump ahead of myself. Healing sessions run from an hour to an hour and a half and begin with a question to the client, “what brought you here and what do you want to work with?” It is vitally important that the client directs the desire and intention, it is their healing.

This is where the difficulty in describing the work begins. How do you describe working within Mystery? Wandering a clients internal landscape through sacred questioning. How do you describe all that is felt, experienced, seen, sensed, intuited. It is a full embodied experience. We ride the waves of question, space/pause, awareness, question, space/pause, awareness, creating movement, reopening flow from places blocked with old beliefs, histories, stories, injuries, wounding. Shifting perspective and by shifting or opening the perspective a little more widely, it changes everything.

I will share a story about a client my Healing 5 class worked with and maybe this will help explain a small bit of what Niasziih Healing is.

Healing 5 is the year we work with Cancer. This client came to see us because he had stage 4 skin cancer (melanoma) the specific type escapes me. His doctor had given him 6 months to live and he was approaching his 57th birthday. Historically, his dad and his grandfather passed away at 57. There is a saying that we have moving from h2 into h3. In order to change your patterns, beliefs and addictions you have to be sick of yourself. Like really, super sick of yourself. Wits end… tired of what you are doing but don’t know what to do different sick of yourself. Whether he knew it or not, I think that is where we found our client. He stayed the entire weekend, receiving 8 healings in total, ranging from lying on a table wandering identity through question to dancing, running and playing. Again, no healing looks the same and we Niasziih Healers have learned to follow the call towards, whatever that may look like or vulnerable it may be. Often times the more vulnerable the better. To be a Niazsiih Healer isn’t for the faint of heart. Our client headed back to Canada and we hoped that we made a difference. Healers don’t always get to know the outcome. In this one though, we did.

It was a while after the healings (less than a year, longer than a few weeks) we heard news of our dear client. He had gone in for his check up and the doctor actually expressed wonder that our client was still alive and did his scans and found he was cancer free. Stage 4 cancer with a prognosis of death in 6 months time, gone. He is alive and happy today, living HIS life, true to who is really is. That part is super important.

Was it the healings that changed things? Was it the drive down? The choice to come to NC? Was it the land/Earth where we did our healings? Was it his walk to the river? Was it his run down the hill into the deep valley and back up the other side? Was it any one thing any of us healers did, the questions we asked or didn’t ask? Our own struggles with identity and where we are scared of stepping into our own lives and how we all met that together? Who knows!! If there is one thing that I learned while doing this work, it is rarely ever one thing but many things coming together in the just the “right” time for that spark that is mystery to change everything and create a miracle.

This is Niasziih Healing. The practitioner using all their senses, communication, questions, skill, wounds, all of themselves - meeting the client and in just the “right” moment all things coming together being met by mystery to create that spark where miracles happens.
